In 1933, during the Great Depression, The founder of Gray's Security Service, Fred Gray was the Superintendent of the Jail system in Jacksonville.  The business office of “Gray’s Guard Service” was located in his home on the north side of Jacksonville. The first operation was protecting the Standard Oil Company on Talleyrand Ave.

In 1988, James Gray changed the company's name to Gray's Security Service, Inc. to more accurately reflect the organization's vision for the future in not only providing officers or "guards", but expanding to a variety of security “service”.

Since those early days, Gray's Security Service, Inc. has become a prominent, locally owned and operated security agency, deeply rooted in Jacksonville as three generations of the Gray family have managed its daily operations.

The City of Jacksonville has emerged as a cornerstone for economic development in the south and Gray's has protected every industry along the way.

Logistics, distribution, transportation, manufacturing, construction, insurance, educational institutions, residential communities, and port security are a few examples of industries

we've secured and protected over the last 87 years.
